Trip cancellation travel insurance (not cancellation waiver)

This type of travel insurance coverage will protect you against your travel booking getting cancelled due to a emergency from your side or as outlined in your travel insurance policy, ie sickness or death in the family. The cost of this type of travel insurance usually is a percentage of the cost of the trip. Other coverages may include cancellation due to the tour operator.

Trip cancellation travel insurance may also reimburse your unused portion of the trip incase the insured is injured or becomes ill during the travel insurance coverage period.

Personal effects or baggage travel insurance

As its name suggests this type of travel insurance coverage provides protection for damage or loss of your belongings during your trip.

Emergency Medical Assistance

This type of travel insurance will provide you with the travel medical assistance you might need on your travels including serious sickness or injury requiring foreign hospitalization, emergency airlifts and your return flight home which may require a doctor and a stretcher which would be very expensive to arrange and pay for.

Accidental Death travel insurance
